To Gerry's family, My brother Gary and I lived across the alley from Gerry and his family for most of our school years. Gary and I have always considered Gerry to be one of our best friends. Gerry had a lot of traits that I admired. I appreciated his pleasant demeanor and his gentle, quiet dispostion. I don't ever remember seeing him angry. As of now, I still respect these traits he had and I try to use them in my life. He will be greatly missed. I offer my sincere condolences to his wife, children and his parents and siblings.

Back in about 1980, Neil and I were well on our way to determining the condo at Panorama Village ski hill was not going to be a good fit with our family. A group of about 10 of us went skiing as 16,17, and18 year olds. Needless to say we decided to all go for a hot tub. Unfortunately, the tub was full of girls somewhat older than us who with their looks and comments let us know we were not welcome and should leave. Gerry appeared from the dark with his usual grin. Without missing a beat, he walked through the snow and right into the tub with his jeans and jean jacket still on! We suddenly had the hot tub to ourselves as the girls all got up and quickly left.
When we were in high school, Gerry got a silver dodge Aspen 4 door. Soon after he got it, he was coming out to my parents acreage iin a complete white out prairie snow storm. Suddenly, a small wooden sign post appeared front of his new car. Rather than just run it over with the big metal heavy bumper, Gerry tried to crank the wheel and avoid contact. Unfortunately, he didn't quite clear the post and it took the passenger side mirror and both door handles off his car! I remember whe he arrived at our home, he was devastated but shook his head and rolled with what had happened. All he could think was how he "missed it by that much" as he held out 2 fingers 3" apart!
Gerry, thanks for the memories, the humour, the hot tub and showing me the ability to accept life's curves in the road.
Rest in peace.

Linda, Brittany and Carly may you know how our hearts are filled with sorrow and sadness for the loss of your husband, father, our friend, Gerry. He was truly one of a kind and will always be remembered. His humour can never be matched, his wit was unlike anyone and his laugh will always remain in our minds.

To Gerry's family, children and friends, I express my condolences for your loss. Gerry was one of my younger brother Neil's best friends growing up. He will always be remembered by me as someone who never spoke ill of others and remained a kind soul. May he now be at peace in his final journey.
