Obituary of Gordon Brodie

Gordon John Noble Brodie was born to Gordon and Gertie Brodie at Killam, Alberta on October 11, 1932 and passed away suddenly at home on January 2, 2013 at the age of 80 years. Gordon took his schooling at Poplar Park north east of Killam. He had worked mostly with Arnett & Burgess Oilfield Construction Ltd in the pipeline construction. His interests included rodeos, horse racing and fishing. He is survived by his six children Connie (Reg), Gordie (Pam), Terry (Shelly), Darrel, Doug (Sheila) and Trudy (Neil), eighteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters Shirley (Gordie) Dammann, Jean (Gerald) Fedunec, brother Lorne (Ida Mae) Brodie and numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. Gordon was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Gertie and two brothers Lloyd and Bill. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Killam Community Hall. Memorial donations in memory of Gordon may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
