Violet Nora Walker

Violet Nora Walker of Alliance, AB passed away suddenly on Jan 4th, 2020 at the age of 77. Nora, as she liked to be called, was born in the Village of Meikleour, Scotland on Dec 22, 1942. She grew up on the family farm just outside of Blairgowrie, where she met and married her first husband John Walker. They made their new home in Perth and soon welcomed 2 Sons, Alan and Derek. They immigrated to Canada in 1965 where they settled in Ontario, living in St. Mary’s and London, where they welcomed a third son, Craig. In 1979 they made their way across Canada to their new home in Edmonton, AB. Nora and John eventually parted ways and she later met and married her 2nd husband John Burak. They lived in Edmonton until they moved to Alliance AB, where they resided until the time of her passing. She is predeceased by her Son Derek Walker, Father James Ower, Mother Marjory Ower and Stepdaughter Tracey Burak.
Nora will be sadly missed and is survived by, her husband John Burak of Alliance, AB, Son Alan(Brenda) Walker and 2 Grandsons Chris and Aaron Walker, all of Edmonton, AB, Son Craig Walker of Edmonton, AB, Brother Jim (Fiona) Ower of Scotland, Brother Ian (Rusty) Ower of Scotland, Stepdaughter Arlene Mark) Hamilton of Oliver BC, Stepson Travis (Cassie) Burak of Calgary AB, the Father of her Children John (Audrey) Walker of Tuktoyaktuk, NWT, as well as numerous other Nieces, Nephews & Extended Family in Canada, Scotland, New Zealand & Australia.
Cremation handled by Fee & Sons of Killam, AB. A Graveside Interment will be held on Friday, March 6th at Evergreen Funeral Home & Cemetery in Edmonton, AB.
We all imagine Nora, who loved to read, curled up somewhere enjoying a good book and a nice cup of tea, happy and contented.
