Obituary of Isobell Schuurman

Isobell Schuurman, a long-time resident of Sedgewick, Alberta, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at the Killam Health Care Centre.

Isobell was born September 1, 1942, in Unity, Saskatchewan. Isobell and her family moved to the Sedgewick area in 1947. She was married to Reinder Schuurman on July 23, 1960. They lived and raised their three sons, Jim, Brent and Mervin in Sedgewick. Isobell loved socializing with family and friends, enjoying a good laugh, a game of cards and especially playing her guitar and singing.

She is survived by her husband Reinder, sons Jim of Red Deer, Brent (Steven) of Calgary and Mervin (Karla) of Edberg; her sister Florence McKee of Sedgewick; six grandchildren Jessica, Gavin, Mitchell, Deanna, MacKenzie and Madi; two great-grandchildren Sierra and Jack and numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends throughout Alberta.

Isobell was predeceased by her father Leonard Usselman, her mother Mary Usselman and her sister Bergetta Wolf.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017, at the Sedgewick United Church. Memorial donations in memory of Isobell may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

We would like to thank everyone for all of your kind words and comfort in the loss of our wife, mother, grandmother, and Auntie. She will be greatly missed by us all.
