Obituary of Lorraine Anne Lorenz

Lorraine Anne Lorenz of Camrose passed away peacefully on May 18, 2016 at the age of 91 years. Lorraine was born in Strome, Alberta on April 21, 1925, the eldest child of Ben & Magdalena Niehaus. She married Alex Lorenz in 1947, and this marriage spanned 67 years during which time they operating the family farm at Strome, until their retirement and move to Camrose. Together they raised a family of 6 children, 5 boys and 1 girl. Dwayne (Bobbie); Dwight (Marilyn); Donald (Cheryl); Gerry (Doris); Terry (Fredrika); and Audrey. And have 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings, Alma, Jeanette, Loyola, Elldon, Larry & David. Lorraine was very hard working mother, and farmer's wife, but took special pride in raising a large garden and tending to her flocks of chickens & turkeys. One of her greatest joys was the involvement with the CWL and to which she achieving a 75 year recognition. She was pre deceased by her husband Alex, parents Ben & Magdalena, step mother Valeria, brother Vern, sisters Mildred & Barbara. A public visitation will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Fee & Sons Funeral Home. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Killam. Donations in memory of Lorraine may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
