Obituary of Lorene Agnes Holben
Lorene Agnes (Fink) Holben was born to Henry and Elsie Fink on January 26th, 1924, in Forestburg and passed away on March 23rd, 2016 at Bethany Meadows in Camrose. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur “Shirley”; parents, Henry and Elsie; brothers Edgar and Wilfred and sister Vera; brothers-in-law, Albert Jahns and Wesley Holben; and son, Edgar Holben.
Left to cherish Lorene’s memory are; Jane (Don) Nelson of Alberta Beach, Russel Holben of Camrose, Marilyn Holben of Leduc, Darrin (Cheryl) Holben of Strome; four grandchildren, Kayley (Mike) MacMillan of Stony Plain, Eric (Tara) Nelson of Calgary, Raegan Holben and Logan Holben of Strome; two great grandchildren, Holly Jane Nelson and Joseph Ray Nelson; brother, Alvin (Jean) Fink, sister, Connie (Bob) Reid, sister-in-law Idelle Holben, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many, many friends.
Lorene married Arthur Shirley Holben on November 16th, 1949, and was married for over 41 years. They worked hard, evident with various businesses they owned and operated. In1988, Lorene and Shirley moved to Forestburg and in 2000, Lorene moved into Big Knife Villa, where she thoroughly enjoyed living. She was active at the Senior’s Centre, and kept busy playing cards, floor curling and general fellowship. She then moved to Assisted Living in Onoway and eventually resided at Bethany Meadows, in Camrose.
Lorene was hard-working, and instilled that belief into her children, and was proud of not only her children but grandchildren and great grandchildren. She valued friendship, and many were life-long. She will be always loved and deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16th, 2016 at the Galahad Agriplex at 1:30 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Galahad Cemetery or to the charity of one’s choice.
