Obituary of Robert Harold MURIE

Robert Harold Murie was born to John and Vera Murie at Fort William, Ontario on June 23, 1928 and passed away at Provost Extended Care on January 1, 2016. Bob was a well-traveled man who had many careers during his lifetime including field geologist, equipment operator in the oil patch, and town foreman for the Town of Killam for many years. He also drove the Zamboni at the Killam arena as well as a grounds keeper at the Killam Hospital. Bob approached all of the endeavours in his life with a strong intellect and a desire to have the job done well. Bob is survived by his daughters and sons: Jane Spain and grandson Matthew and great grandchildren Mason and Kieran of Florida; Jack Lingard (Andrea) and grandsons Tom and Sam of Georgia; Heather Cullen (Mark) and grandsons Brett and Scott of Prince George; Yvonne Sterrenberg of Millarville, AB and Bradley Murie (Dianne) of Sedgewick. Bob was predeceased by his wife Donna, parents John and Vera Murie and his brother Ken Murie. Please join with the family for a celebration of Bob’s life at Fee & Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Following the service a reception will be held at the Clan Malcolm Manor. Memorial donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Alberta Lung Association.
