Fredella Darlene Anderson
May 10, 1932 — July 20, 2024
Fredella Anderson, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at the Killam Health Care Centre on July 20, 2024, at the age of 92 years.
Fredella was born in Swalwell, Alberta on May 10, 1932, and grew up on a farm near Beiseker until she moved with her parents to Calgary in 1948. She attended most of her high school time at CUC in Lacombe and then graduated from Crescent Heights High School in Calgary. She completed a 2-year pre-nursing course at CUC, briefly worked at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary, then went to nursing school at Portland Adventist Sanitarium for one year. In 1953 she married Harry Anderson, and they created their life on the farm. She enjoyed being a farm wife and faithfully supported Harry in all his singing ventures in the surrounding communities by playing the piano for him. She served as a church organist/pianist and led out or provided support in other various church duties.
Those who loved Fredella will remember her for her care for others, her great cooking, the pride she took in caring for her yard and flowers, her sense of humour, her high standards, and her tenacity and determination. She will be deeply and sadly missed.
She is predeceased by Harry, her loving husband of 58 years, her daughter Charlene, parents Charles and Dorothy Litke and six siblings.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Harriet Amundson, Bonnie Kenny, and Cheryl (Ed) Jones; grandchildren Michael (Keira) Kenny, Madelaine Amundson, Samantha (Brad) Nichols, Emma Amundson, Braeden Jones, Dean Jones, Dylan Jones; three great-grandchildren Callum Kenny, Lainey Kenny, Watson Nichols; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Sedgewick Seventh-Day Adventist Church on September 14, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow.
