Obituary of Ed Erikssen

Edward Peder Erikssen (Chatty) December 12, 1957 - March 5, 2024

Edward Peder Erikssen, a man whose spirit was as strong as the roar of his beloved Harley. Born on December 12th, 1957, in Killam, Alberta. Edward lived a life filled with passion, courage, love and really bad jokes.

Throughout his journey, Edward faced many challenges, but none could diminish his indomitable spirit. Despite battling lymphoma, he approached each day with unwavering bravery, teaching us all the true meaning of resilience and faith.

Edward's heart was as big  as the Alberta skies, always eager to embrace the open road and the company of friends. His Harley was not just a mode of transportation but a symbol of freedom and adventure, allowing him to feel the wind in his hair and the thrill of the ride.

As Edward’s journey on this earth comes to an end, we take solace in knowing that he is now reunited with the truest love of his life in the embrace of Heaven’s eternal light, his Mother. Welcoming him home with open arms are his beloved mother, Ruth, whose love and guidance shaped the very essence of his being, and his father, Gudmunn, whose strength and wisdom guided him through life’s trials and triumphs.

Joining them in heavenly reunion are Edward’s cherished sisters, Ruby and Carol, whose laughter and love filled his life with joy, and his niece Diane, whose presence brought light and warmth to his heart.

As Edward takes his place among the angels, may he find comfort in the loving embrace of his family who have gone before him. And may their reunion in the realms beyond serve as a testament to the enduring power of love and the eternal bonds that connect us all.

As we reflect on the beautiful life of Edward Peder Erikssen, we find solace in the knowledge that his legacy will continue to shine brightly through those he held closest to his heart.

Left behind to carry on his memory is his partner of 15 years, Tracy Kersey, whose unwavering love and support enriched Edward's life in countless ways.

In addition to Tracy, Edward is survived by his beloved siblings, Ronald, Thora (Dale), Linda, Bryan (Liz), Mervin (Lori), Laura (William) and numerous nieces and nephews whose bond with him was forged through shared memories and unconditional love. Together, they will draw strength from one another as they navigate this difficult time.

But perhaps Edward's greatest accomplishments, his truest treasures, are his children and grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life.

Amanda, with her husband Roger, and their children Alyssa (Justin), Jayden, Jacob and great-grandson Cooper, carry forward Edward's legacy with love and grace.

Jana, alongside her husband Mike, and their children Blaise, Kyra, and little Myles, will continue to honor Edward's memory with every step they take. And his stepdaughter Brandy, with her husband Jeff, and their children Haleigh, Donovan, Turner, Colby, Alexander, and Isabella, will forever cherish the lessons of love and strength that Edward imparted upon them.

Though Edward may no longer walk beside them, his spirit will live on in the laughter of his grandchildren, the warmth of his partner's embrace, and the love that binds his family together. As they carry forward his legacy, may they find comfort in the cherished memories they shared and the enduring love that will always connect them to Edward.

May the wind always be at your back as you journey on, and may your memory forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know you.

Thank you to all of the Doctors and Nurses who stood by Edward’s side during this time.

Give Heaven some Hell!
