Obituary of Betty Mallinger

Betty Esther Mallinger of Forestburg, Alberta passed away February 25, 2023 at the age of 68 years.  She was born to Luke and Grace Mallinger on January 6, 1955 in Norquay, Saskatchewan.  Betty moved to Alberta in the late 70’s and met her partner, Gerald Erickson.  Together they had three daughters: Linda, Erin and Sheila.

Betty was a hard worker all her life.  She didn’t quit until the job was done.  Betty had many jobs in her lifetime from being a mother, a farmer’s wife, a janitor at the Forestburg school and working at the Forestburg and Killam Bottle Depots.

Betty is survived by her three daughters: Linda; Erin (Tom) and their children Dakota and Kristopher; Sheila and her son Avery; her sister Verna (Gerald); her nieces Deanna (Dustin) and their children Ella and Quinn; Kim (Craig) and their children Erik, Ian, Luke and Freya.  She is also survived by her partner’s brother David.

She was predeceased in death by her partner Gerald Erickson, her parents Luke and Grace, her nephew Craig, and many extended family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wendesday, March 8th at the Galahad Agriplex.  Memorial donations in memory of Betty may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
