It is with great sadness that the family of Cheryl Marie Zimmel announce her quiet passing at her home on February 3, 2023 at the age of 75.
Cheryl was born to George and Tekla Rakoz on October 11, 1947 in Daysland, Alberta. She grew up on a farm around Spring Lake. She attended Daysland School and was a cheer leader.
Cheryl met Jerome and they were married on April 8, 1967. Shortly after, they bought a farm outside of Strome, where they grew grain and raised cattle. They had two daughters – Valerie and Tina.
Cheryl absolutely loved books, flowers, lawn mowing, camping and fresh fried fish. She was a kind and giving person who could also be stubborn and just a little bit sassy. Most of all she loved her family.
Cheryl was predeceased by her mother Tekla, brother Robert, father George, and grandson Marshall. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Jerome, daughters Valerie and Tina, grandchildren Brandon and Madeline, her brother Bryan (Linda) as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Interment will follow the service at the Strome Catholic Cemetery. You are invited to join in fellowship and refreshments in the lower Church hall following the interment.
