Our deepest sympathies to all of Doug’s families. Our memories of him and Gwen are many and cherished forever. Whenever our paths crossed there was always time to visit with lots of laughs. We always admired them as a couple. He worked hard at the mine and never ever complained no matter the difficulties of the job. He will be remembered forever for his gentle caring ways. Comforting to know that Doug and Gwen are together again.

Our sincere prayers and condolences go to the Matier families. Your obituary message was remarkable. I, (Opal DeWitt) too grew up in the Galahad area and went probably to the same school at Galahad. The Matier name is very familiar, and, in fact, there was a Dorothy Matier in my class. It was a great place to go to school as well as to grow up. So thankful for Doug's faith in Christ. May the Lord give grace and peace to all of you.
Sincerely in prayer,
Opal(DeWitt) & Melvin Shadbolt

To all of Dougs families we offer our condolences to you. Eilene and I always enjoyed the visits at home or on the street as they always liked a good chuckle. Hugs to you all. Ron and Eilene Damberger
