Obituary of Valentine Dewald
Val Dewald was born June 8, 1929 on the family farm outside of Cosine, Saskatchewan to Peter and Genoveve Dewald. He passed away at the University Hospital in Edmonton on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the age of 85 years.
Val was happiest working and keeping busy farming and ranching and continued doing so up until late in life. A great pride in Val's life was his family; especially great-granddaughter Kinley who he spent many hours visiting and entertaining. His sense of humor and colorful stories were enjoyed by all who knew him.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son Ernest (Rose) Dewald, grandson Cody (Jeanene), granddaughter Raelyn (Ryan), and great-granddaughter Kinley.
Val was predeceased by his loving wife Elsie, parents Peter and Genoveve, five sisters and two brothers Mary (Robert) Nason, Betty (Howard) Phillips, Verna (Robert) Nason, Tony (Ethel) Dewald, Barbara (Joe) Arney, Christina (Richard) Aab, and Norman (Marion) Dewald. He is survived by three brothers and five sisters Connie (Pat) Dewald, Otto (Elsie) Dewald, Gertrude (John) Marks, Agnes (Joel) Durand, Robert (June) Dewald, Victoria (Don) Conway, Katherine (Bill) Harrison, and Viola (Wayne) Baynham and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations in memory of Val may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
