Obituary of Walter Blagden
It is with great sadness and very heavy hearts that on March 5, 2015 God suddenly called home another 'Great Angel', a man who never asked for 'Thanks' when lending a hand, a man who never 'Judged' another, a man who had compassion that came from deep within his soul, a man who would pass a stranger and say 'Hello', shake your 'Hand' to seal a contract, a man who found the 'Small' things in life brought the most joy. Planting the garden in the backyard, mowing lawns and shovelling walks for elderly widows, selling pull tabs during volunteer bingo night, cooking bacon at the lions monthly free breakfast, his smile lit up a room, his laughter was infectious, his heart was made of 'Pure Gold'. Most of all this 'Great Angel' loved his family and strived to be the best Husband, Father, Father-In-Law, Grandfather, Brother and Friend.
Walter was born in Armstrong, BC, on December 5, 1939. Walter had many passions from woodworking to classic cars; he spent his working years as a maintenance mechanic in the food manufacturing industry, retiring in 2006 to Forestburg, Alberta to be close to family. Walter was an active member of the community belonging to the Forestburg Curling Club, Forestburg Lions Club, Forestburg Golden Age Club and the Forestburg Golf Club. He was also a very loyal and dedicated employee of Moores Grocery and The Forestburg Golden Age Club.
