Obituary of William Robinson
Bill was born in Hardisty on August 24, 1941; the son of William and Vivian Robinson. He passed away at the Hardisty Hospital on February 20, 2015 at the age of 73.
Bill was raised on the family farm, located in the rolling hills of the Battle River, outside of Hardisty. He enjoyed many years of ranching and working the fields until he retired. During his retirement, he didn't just sit idle. He took up driving school bus and enjoyed that immensely.
Bill and Dianne (Peacock) were married at Hardisty, Alberta on November 3, 1978. He was the chosen Dad of three: Vernon, Vicki and Greg. They lived on the farm at Hardisty until 1993. From there they made several moves before finding their way back to the Hardisty hills in 2007. The hills were where his heart belonged.
Bill's passion of hockey led him from player to coach to an incredibly proud Grandpa in the stands. As a grandfather, he delighted in all the grandchildren's endeavors and achievements and spent many hours driving to their various activities.
Bill is survived by his wife, Dianne; his children, Vernon (Corrine) McMahon, Vicki (Brent) Child, and Greg (Sara) Robinson; seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Bradley (Melissa), Alisha, Travis, Adam, Emily and Abigail; and two great-grandchildren, Kloe and Autumn. He also leaves his sisters, Fay (Kent) Williamson and Freda (Allen) Jackson, sister-in-law Debbie (Garry) Swainson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Bill was predeceased by his father, William; his mother, Vivian; his brother, Roger; and numerous other family members and friends.
Bill's family is very thankful for the support of family and friends during this difficult time. Bill expressed many times during his battle how thankful he was for having such a great family as well as friends who took the time to visit. We would also like to thank EMS, Doctors, nurses and staff of the Hardisty Hospital for their care and support.
There will be no Memorial Service as were Bill's wishes. A Private Family Interment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
