Obituary of Robert Dutchak

In loving memory of Robert Dutchak beloved husband, father, Gido (grandfather), and Pro-Gido (great-grandfather) passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Two Hills Long Term Care in Two Hills, Alberta at the age of 82 years. Robert was born at Tawatinaw, Alberta on October 27th, 1932 to William and Annette (Zyons) Dutchak). He was the fourth child of their five children. He joined the army in 1952 at Wainwright, Alberta and went to Calgary to continue his training and shortly after he went to Korea. In 1955 he was honorably discharged. After this he went into the oil patch and worked in various positions. In 1984 he said he was through with being away from the family and went into farming. He stayed farming until 1995 and then retired from the farm. He had some health issues he overcame, some of them with medication and treatments. He said the most important event in his life was in 1961, the day he became married to Margaret M. Vos on January 26th, 1961. This marriage would span for 54 years. Together they raised their family of five children, four girls and one boy. Robert loved the farm and the outdoors, he enjoyed helping in the garden. He enjoyed carpentry and helping out whenever he could. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Margaret, his children; Karmen (Dan) Fossen and their children, Zen (Tanya) Fossen, Layne (Deanna) Fossen, Daniel Fossen, Katlin (Sarah) Fossen, Landon Fossen. Janice (Alan) Ashcroft and their children Randy (Megan) Dutchak, Padan Ashcroft, James Ashcroft. Barbara Niehaus and her children Autumn (Scott) Elder, April Niehaus, Samantha Niehaus. Patricia (David) Burkin and their children Cole Burkin, Lee Savage. Robert (Emily) Dutchak and their son Raeden Dutchak, Paul (Dawn) Dutchak and their children Tyrone Dutchak, Cody Dutchak, Dominic Dutchak. Savannah (Berson) Chasey and their son Kyle Chasey and thirteen great grandchildren. Sister- in-law Linda Dutchak, numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents William and Annette Dutchak, his brother Mike and his wife Florence Dutchak, his sister Martha and her husband Wesley Chodak, his sister Joyce Bird, his brother James (Jim) Dutchak, his father and mother-in-law Leonard and Anna Vos, his brother-in-law Leonard S.A. Vos, his granddaughter Janel Ashcroft, his grandson Devon Niehaus and his son-in-law Joseph Niehaus. His presence will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 13th; 2015 at the hall at Brosseau, Alberta. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the charity of one`s choice.
