Obituary of Vera Hopkin

Vera May Hopkin (Fleming) passed away at the Black Diamond Oilfields Hospital on Friday, January 23, 2015 at the age of 101 years. She was born in Wolseley, Saskatchewan on December 4, 1913. Mom was a caring, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Throughout her life she worked at the Hardware & Grocery store in Sedgewick and Falman's Store in Valleyview. She had many hobbies which were crochet, tatting, embroidery and had a love for sports especially curling, golfing and tennis. She leaves to mourn her loss one son John Barry (Glenna) of Turner Valley; daughters-in-law Barb Bergum of Valleyview, Pat Hopkin of Valleyview and Donna Formaniuk of Okotoks; son-in-law Orlen Knutsvig of Camrose; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Vera was predeceased by her loving husband John Thomas, daughter Arlene Knutsvig, sons James (Jim), Richard (Rick), Robert (Bob), one great grandson Derek Rosland, parents William James Fleming and Helen (Nellie) Fleming (MacKenzie) of Wolseley, Saskatchewan. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Sedgewick United Church with Reverend Randy Hedeman officiating. Interment will take place in the Sedgewick Cemetery.
