Obituary of Laverne Borgel

Laverne was born August 13, 1926 at Spring Lake, Alberta to Leonard and Barbara Blaeser. She passed away on October 24, 2014 at the age of 88 years. She is survived by four daughters, Carol Arntzen (Bob Gould) of Sedgewick, Linda (George) Pederson of Penhold, Judy (Bryan) Poliakiwiski of Mannville, and Ruth (Jack) Potter of Lougheed; two brothers, Edward (Peggy) Blaeser of Canmore and Ray (Diane) Blaeser of Strome; sister-in-law, Olive Grant and brother-in-law, George Borgel. She treasured eight grandchildren, Tracy (Bill) Dietrich, Kelly McDowell, Jayson (Stacie) Pederson, Erik (Margaret) Pederson, Pamela (Myles) Konschuh, Clinton (Kelly Faas) Poliakiwiski, Luke Potter, Brett (Andrew) Hampshire, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Laverne was predeceased by her husband, John on October 26, 1995 and her son-in-law, Austin Arntzen on August 31, 2008. Laverne's love for flowers and gardening was only exceeded by her love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as portrayed at her last birthday celebration in August. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Killam. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Killam Cemetery Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
