Obituary of Norman Weeks

Norman Dale Michael Weeks April 27, 1961 - June 19, 2014 On June 19, 2014, at the age of 53, Norman Weeks passed away peacefully at his home in Killam. Born April 27, 1961, Norman was the eleventh and last child born to James and Leonora Weeks. Norman lived all his childhood years in Killam attending Killam Public School and Central High School in Sedgewick. As a child he particularly enjoyed playing hockey. While a teenager he worked at George's Autobody sanding cars. Always adept with tools and machinery, Norman chose the occupation of welding and pipefitting, completing his apprenticeship and receiving his certification as First Class Welder in 1984. He worked for Arnett & Burgess, Twa's Welding and other companies around Alberta eventually being initiated into United Association Local 488 as BTJ Pipefitter. Norman was forced by ill health and seizures to give up his beloved trade in 2002. At that time he moved back "home" to Killam. Norman is survived by his precious, much loved daughter, Katie Weeks and her mother Roxanne of Leduc, AB. He is also survived by his brothers, Bernard Weeks ( Donna), Ron Weeks (Rosemary), Bill Weeks and his sisters, Carol Wilson (Fred), Arlene Young (Allen), Doris Johnson (Ken), Peggy Dorion, Lois Sorensen (Frank), and Valerie Kraushar (Kirby). He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his mother and father, and his brother, Perry Weeks. A private family interment at Pleasington Church Cemetery will be held later in the summer. Norman, we will always carry your memory in our hearts. We love you; rest in peace little brother. Memorial donations may be made to Pleasington Historical Society, Forestburg, AB or to Aspen Heights Center (www.ahdtc.org). Please make cheques payable to "Elim Church" for Aspen Heights.
