Ernie was born May 30, 1933 in Hardisty, Alberta. He lived his life in Hardisty until passing away December 24, 2013 at the age of 80. Ernie will be greatly missed by his wife of 57 years, Eva, his children, Linda Lievers from Edmonton, Teresa (Richard) Dunning from Hardisty, Darryl (Deb) Anderson from Athabasca, and Tammy Bell from Hardisty. His eight grandchildren, Kelsey Lievers, Kristy and Megan Dunning, Murray, Paige, and Blake Anderson, Jenna Schriever, Dale Bell, his one great grandchild Hunter Dunning Cross, and his brother and sister-in-law Ellwood and Meryl Murray. Ernie was predeceased by his father, Hilding Anderson, sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Ray Hank, his father and mother-in-law Ronald and Alma Murray and his son in law Kelvin Bell. Ernie was born in Hardisty Hospital and spent his childhood on the farm with his father and sister. He worked on the rigs, and came back to help his father on the farm in 1954. He built Ernie's Service in 1956, and ran that business for approximately 25 years with his father. Ernie sold the service station and built a hog barn in 1980, which he ran until he retired. His retirement plan was to travel but he soon discovered his heart was most content at home. He enjoyed his garden, managing his big yard and attending all the garage sales he could. In February 2013 he was admitted into the Hardisty Hospital and passed away December 24, 2013 in his home town. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Hardisty Elks Hall.
