Obituary of Larry Kennedy

Lawrence (Larry) Kennedy, 69, of Claddagh Farm, Sedgewick, Alberta, Canada passed away on 17 December 2013. He was born in Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo, Ireland, November 30, 1944 to the late Mary and Thomas Kennedy. He led a full and eventful life that took place all over the Globe: Ireland, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Israel, Iran, United States then returning to Canada to settle in 2007 in Sedgewick, Alberta. Larry was married to his darling wife Emily Kennedy (married August 10, 2002). Larry is survived by his beloved children: Kieran and Bridget Kennedy, of Vancouver, British Columbia, children of April Kennedy; and Kevin Kennedy, of Sedgewick, Alberta, son of Emily Kennedy. Larry was an exceptional tool and gauge designer and design engineer. His career was mainly in the aviation industry, where he worked on notable projects such as the Boeing 777 and the Airborne Laser. He was the founder of the Way Back Inn in the state of Washington. He was also an instrument rated pilot. His "retirement" took him back to his farming roots in Alberta, where he also worked as a weed inspector for the County of Flagstaff. Larry was an exceptional orator, writer, actor, and gave his time joyously to helping and supporting others. In addition to welcoming everyone he possibly could into his home, he also joined the Sedgewick Ag Society, The Flagstaff Players, and volunteered at Central High Sedgewick Public School where he read with Grade 1 students. On October 18 of this year, he celebrated 30 years of sobriety. Larry always credited Alcoholics Anonymous and his Higher Power with his success and happiness.
