Darren, Lynn, Shelley and families and Marina"s family: So sorry and saddened to hear of Lyle's passing. Your Mom and Dad were wonderful neighbours to Art and I and our girls. Lyle was always so patient with us from putting up with a ball going through his garage window to teenagers wandering into his yard. He was always there to give a helping hand with the lawnmower or rototiller or anything we needed from his amply stocked garage. He will be greatly missed by all that were blessed to know him. Love and hugs to all.

Always a pleasure to meet up with and chat with Lyle. He had a kind word and maybe a joke to tell, his smile was infectious and brought smiles to the faces of many.

Shelly, Lynn, Darren, & Families,
I was very saddened to hear of Mr. Metz passing this morning. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His smile was infectious and when he smiled, his eyes smiled too!
I see so much of your Dad in you now Darren. I am grateful for the time I spent with your Dad the summer before last. We shared a great visit and reliving many happy memories. It provided me an opportunity to thank him for the kindness that him and your Mom extended to me growing up with many summer trips fishing and also to Fairmont. I am forever grateful for those times!
Mr. Metz was a man of many talents. A brilliant piano player and also a talented mechanic. He was a giving man to his family, friends, community, coworkers, church, and anyone who needed a helping hand. I always marveled as a little boy and friend of Darren, at the size of his forearms and hands. I vividly remember telling him as a young boy that he would make a great baseball player! Another fond memory I have of Mr. Metz is when he would take Darren & I to Edmonton when he went on a pop run for the Pop Shoppe store that him and your Mom ran. While he was getting the truck loaded Darren & I would be chugging as much pop as quickly and humanly possible that we could drink. He had to stop multiple times on the trip home for us and I am quite sure we were “Vibrating” with energy but he never complained or became angry at us.
I extend my heartfelt sympathies to you all at this time of sorrow. I am going to miss your Dad too. He made a huge impact in my life and I am grateful to have known him!
Darren (“Lewie”)
