Ida King Oct 11, 1948-July 19, 2026

Ida was born to Annie and Rowland Devey in 1948 in Hardisty AB. In 1971 she married Merle King and resided in Edmonton where Merle worked until 1976 when we moved to the farm north of Hardisty until present.

She enjoyed golfing in summer and curling in winter for several years. She also took up painting art and ceramics as well as being a homemaker, truck driver, farmhand and rancher. Not bad for a city girl. She also found time to volunteer on the Hardisty Rec Board and Hardisty Hospital Auxiliary. In her later years she taught herself to use the computer and decided to research hers and Merle’s ancestry. She spent hours and hours on genealogy.

She leaves to mourn her husband Merle, sons John Bergstrom, Ron (Yvonne) King and Brian (Christine) King, grandchildren Desiree (Jarett) Hayes, Andrea (Byron) Grande, Austin King, Tyson King, Dakota King and Steven King, great grandchildren Elijah Hayes, Aurora Hayes, and Escanor Grande. Also, brother Bud (Aurther) Devey and sister Edie (Lewis) Williams, brother-in-law Wayne (Phylis) King, sisters in law Connie (Eric) Mueller, Wendy King, and Yvonne King, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her parents Annie and Rowland Devey, brothers Jim Devey, and Duffy (Bob) Devey, sisters-in-law Dorothy Devey, Raymonde Devey Creasy , Mary Jane Devey, and brother-in-law Verne King.

A Come & Go to celebrate Ida’s Life will be held at Noon to 2pm on August 1st, 2026, at the Hardisty Community Hall.
