Sylvia May Fisher (née Huyghe)

Sylvia was born in Killam, Alberta, on April 20, 1946, and passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, having just celebrated her 80th birthday.

In her final days, Sylvia was frequently surrounded by her family, whom she loved more than anything. Her siblings — Bob, Sharon, Terry, and Debbie — along with her sister-in-law Debbie and brother-in-law Bob, were her first friends and among her biggest loves and supporters. Her daughters, Trudy and Tracy, were her greatest joys until the grandchildren came along and quickly took over her heart: Justin, Melissa, Sam, and Lukas, and most recently, her great-granddaughter, Amelia Mae.

She loved to talk to strangers, but chose her friends carefully, and those closest to her, she cherished deeply. We know she will be overjoyed to be reunited with her dearest friend, Edie Anderson, and the many who passed before her: her ex-husband and friend Gary Bone, her mother Kate Huyghe, Ethel and Eldon Bone, and her sister Carol.

Mom, Gramma, Grams, Moon, Sibby — she will be missed dearly and cherished always by those she leaves behind: her daughters and their families, Trudy and Joe Kueber (Justin, with Christine and Amelia; and Melissa, with Travis Brenneis), and Tracy and Wolfgang (Sam and Lukas Zeisberger); her siblings Bob, Sharon, Terry (Debbie), and Debbie (Bob); along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of her life will be on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 3:00 pm in Killam, AB at the Knox United Church followed by fellowship and burial at the Hardisty Cemetery.
