Elaine Louise Newby (nee Huyghe) was born July 26,1938 in the old Killam Hospital to Robert (Bob) and Agnes Huyghe (nee Johnson). She passed away June 15, 2026, at Killam Health Care Centre at the age of 87.

Elaine is survived by her children Mark & Kari Newby, Dale Newby & partner Anton Sigouin; 2 grandchildren, Robert Newby (fiancé Baylee Goodrich) and Karali Newby; 2 great grandchildren Calypso and Oliver; her sister Jean & David Prichard; sister-in-law Margaret Greenwood; brother-in-law Everett Greenwood and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Thomas Newby; her parents Bob and Agnes; brothers Johnnie (Florence), George (Eleanor) and Walter Huyghe; her mother-in-law, Annie Newby (nee Knutson).

A Funeral Service for Elaine will be held on June 18, 2026 at 3:00pm at the Knox United Church.

Please join the family for a time of fellowship and refreshments following the service. Interment at Bethania Lutheran Cemetery leaving Killam at 5 pm.
