Alma Laura Niehaus was born in Strome on Oct.1, 1930 and passed away April 14, 2026 at the Daysland Health Center at the age of 95 years.

Alma was raised in the Strome area. On July 3, 1952, she married Roman Dalueg. They farmed north of Daysland where they raised 5 children, retiring to Daysland in 1991. After Roman passed away, she moved to Westview Manors and then to Providence Place in 2016. Alma enjoyed travelling, playing cards, sewing and putting together jigsaw puzzles.

Alma is survived by her children Linda Schaeffer, Diane (Jerry) Saik, Joan (Cliff) Hill and Russell (Shelly) Dalueg. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, sister Jeanette (Joe) Schulte, sisters in law Helen Niehaus and Maryanne Niehaus, half-brothers Larry (Gerda) Niehaus and David Niehaus and many relatives and friends. 

She was predeceased by her husband Roman, son Leslie, sisters Lorraine (Alex) Lorenz, Mildred (Jerome) Fuechtmann, Loyola (Norbert) Fleck, brothers Vern Niehaus and Eldon Niehaus, step-sister Barb Zier, parents Ben and Magdalena and step-mother Valeria.

Mass of Christian Burial in memory of Alma will be held at Our Lady of the Prairies Catholic Church in Daysland on April 21, 2026.
