Dennis Otto Loesch Obituary

Dennis was born to John and Anna Loesch in Daysland, Alberta on April 26, 1932 and passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026 at 93 years of age.

On July 4, 1956 Dennis married Patricia Niehaus and together they were blessed with eight children; Karen, Kathy (Bill) McLennan, David (Sheryl), Betty (Darrell) Laidlaw, Audrey (Doug) Buchholz, Robert, Jeffrey (Krista) and Leslie (Dale) Heck.  They were also blessed with fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.

Dennis will be remembered for his immense faith, pride in his family and the life that he and Patricia built together.

Dennis and Patricia raised their family while mixed farming for forty-five years.  In addition to this he worked as a grain buyer for Pioneer Grain and owned and operated Crowfoot Agri-Supplies.  He believed that good deeds and an honest day’s work could never steer you wrong.

Throughout the years Dennis enjoyed curling and competed locally and nationally.  Together, Dennis and Patricia loved music and were always up for a sing song with friends and family.

In retirement he began golfing and joined Patricia in beautifying their yard and garden.  He volunteered at the Daysland Golf Course and Providence Place mowing grass well into his nineties.

Dennis had a competitive spirit and always enjoyed a good game of pool or a lively game of cards, he was a member of the Sunbeam Drop in Center for over thirty years.  He was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Oilers and Blue Jays.

He was very loyal and once you became his friend, it was for life.  He loved conversing with people, sharing stories old and new, always making time to listen.

No bigger smile could be found on his face than when he was with his grandchildren and great grand children and they all loved their Papa Dennis dearly.

Dennis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather; he will be deeply  missed be everyone’s lives he touched.  His favorite saying will always be imbedded in our hearts and minds;  “Happy Trails.....Til We Meet Again. “

Dennis was predeceased by the love of his life Patricia, parents John and Anna, brothers Bill, Ken and Gordon and sisters Orena and Joan.

We wish to thank everyone for the comfort, support and acts of kindness shown to our family during this time.
