Obituary of Doyle Badry

Doyle Blase Badry

February 3, 1938 – December 16, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Doyle Blase Badry at his home in Daysland, Alberta, on December 16, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born on February 3, 1938, in Galahad, Alberta, to Albert and Liguori Badry, Doyle grew up in a close-knit rural community that instilled in him a deep sense of faith and resilience. He married the love of his life, Doreen Bendfeld, on June 17, 1967, and together they shared five decades of unwavering partnership. Doyle was a devoted family man whose life was defined by hard work on the land, a steadfast commitment to his Catholic faith, and an enduring love for those closest to him. Known for his quiet strength and generous spirit, he found joy in simple pleasures—like tending to his farm and the farming life he cherished, sharing stories with family friends and numerous relatives, and watching his grandchildren grow—leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met.

Doyle is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Mary Jane (Doug) Heck; his son, Ken (Tracy) Badry; and his adored grandchildren: Janessa (Brendan), Jillian, Jayla, Jayden, Jackson, and Daila; sister, Rose (Ted) West; brothers and sisters in-law, Kathleen Badry, Gloria Adkens, Ralph Bendfeld, Calvin (Karen) Bendfeld and Jean Zimmer. He leaves behind a wide circle of relatives, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends who will miss his warmth and wisdom.

He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Liguori Badry; his beloved wife, Doreen; and his brothers, Craig Badry, Royd Adkens; father and mother in-law, Ted and Mary Bendfeld; brothers in-law, Joe Zimmer, Bernard Bendfeld and sister in-law, Coreen Bendfeld.

A Memorial Mass to celebrate Doyle’s life will be held on January 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Prairies Catholic Church in Daysland, Alberta. Following the service, a time of fellowship and refreshments will be shared, offering an opportunity for family and friends to gather in remembrance.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Our Lady of the Prairies Catholic Church, St. Peter’s Catholic Church, or a charity of the donor’s choice, reflecting Doyle’s lifelong dedication to community and faith.

Doyle’s legacy of kindness and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23)
