Obituary of Clarence James Palmer

Clarence James Palmer

“Have fun all the time!”

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Clarence James Palmer at Daysland Health Center on December 9th, 2025 at the age of 80 after a short battle with cancer.  Born in Derwent, AB on December 24th, 1944, he will always be remembered as a generous, positive, kind soul with an odd sense of humor that would do anything for his family.  He could always make you smile.

Clare had an extensive career at Labatt brewery putting in a lot of overtime to support his family.

He enjoyed spending time at the lake lot, fishing, playing cards, bingo and watching tv with no sound. Memories include camping, his obvious cheating at cards, embarrassing you in public with his cheesy sayings, and smoking with the door open at 30 below.

Clare is survived by his loving wife Rita of 56 years along with their children James (Robin), Dale, Norman (Marianne), Cindy (James), and Joesph (Shaneda); sisters Lily, Laura (Bert); brother Henry (Jean); grandchildren Sora, Christopher, Alyssa, Matthew, Brooklyn, Kamryn, Reese, Justin, Robyn, Kaiden, Daniel, Hannah, Cadence; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Clare is predeceased by his parents Norman and Olga Palmerchuk, sister Jeanette and brother Jessie.

In lieu of a funeral, Clare’s wishes were that his entire family gather for a celebration of his life.

He will always be in our hearts.
