Obituary of Gordon Marlow

Gordon was born in 1936 to George and Sadie Marlow and passed away quietly on May 6th 2025 at the age of 88. Gordon spent several years doing a variety of jobs and in 1958 he married his true love Alma Odegard. He then settled on a truck driving career. In 1979 he received a prestigious award for driving a million miles in his Mack truck, which is equivalent to 40 times around the world, which he was very proud of.

When he retired, him and Alma would go on road trips to the many places he had driven too, but this time they could take the time to enjoy the beauty and magnificence of nature that he only saw while passing through on his trips.

Gordon was the last baby born in a home in Lougheed. HIs family and friends described him as quite a character. He was also a gentleman who believed strongly in honour, loyalty and honesty. Virtues he lived by. To quote Elvis "He did it his way" and always did. When Trista (Granddaughter) was in elementary she wrote an essay on her hero. In it she described her grandpa as "funny, weird, and if he thinks he is right you can't change his mind". Even at such a young age she captured her hero's traits perfectly.

Now reunited with his love Alma, he is at peace. Those of us left behind will be consoled with the memories he left behind in our hearts.

Gordon is survived by his daughter Sharon Marlow, Son Michael (Grace) Marlow, Granddaughter Trista (Dan) Shewfelt, Grandson Bryan Marlow. Great Grandchildren Nate and Sadie Shewfelt and his Sister Mavis.

Gordon is predeceased by his wife Alma, daughter and son-in-law Gail and Dave Canning and sister June.
