Obituary of Deborah Elizabeth Schuurman
Deborah Elizabeth Mary Schuurman (Obleman) was born February 20, 1955 and passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at the Killam Healthcare Centre March 28, 2025.
Debbie was born in Wainwright, Alberta, and was the fourth child in the family. She was a happy child, and her family would attest to that, she would start singing as soon as the sun came up.
She attended school in Wainwright and later on went to Camrose to attend Marvel Beauty School to become a hairdresser. That did not work out due to her allergies. She then went back to Wainwright where she met her loving husband Carl Schuurman whose sister lived next door. Debbie and Carl then married and moved to Sedgewick, Alberta where they built the house in which they reside in. They then had three children; Tammie, Randy and Sandra. Debbie loved her kids and put them in many sports from skating, bowling, baseball, pumpkin carving, whatever the community had to offer. She worked in the hospitality industry doing many different jobs and always meeting new people. Later on she became a cub/scout leader which she was proud of. She was instrumental in getting girls involved as well. She had a love for dogs and never went long without having one.
Debbie is predeceased by her dad Edward Obleman, mother Margaret Pho, stepdad Peter Pho, sister Doris Obleman, brother Clarence (Pearl) Obleman, mother-in-law Diena Schuurman, father-in-law Karel Schuurman, brother-in-law Reinder (Isobell) Schuurman, brother-in-law Henry (Alice) Schuurman, sister-in-law Hedy Neron, nephew Jim Schuurman and niece Elaine Schuurman.
