Obituary of Bessie Schnettler

Bessie Louise Pawlick was born on August 26, 1932 to parents Nick and Tina Pawlick in Thorsby, Alberta.  She passed away peacefully in the Killam Health Centre on February 12, 2018 at the age of 85 years.

Bessie grew up in Calmar, Alberta on a large farm with four sisters and five brothers.  She graduated from High School in Thorsby, AB.  She met Anthony Schnettler in the Leduc area.  After dating for a while, they got married on February 18, 1952.

They moved to Killam to farm with their new family in 1954 after the twins were born.  They had five children: Geri, Dale, Doug, Deb and Val.

Bessie enjoyed being Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma (Granny) to all of her family.  She had a great love for cooking and baking.  She was a master cabbage roll and bun maker.  Her gardens were bountiful and she enjoyed sharing the crops with her family and friends.  She also became very accomplished in growing beautiful flowers.  Everyone would stop by the front of her house and admire the flowers in her planters.

Bessie leaves to mourn her passing, her husband of 66 years, Tony, children Geri, Deb (Grant), and Val (Terry), eight beautiful grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two sisters Olga Stepanko, Liz Kelndorfer and one brother Nick Pawlick.

Bessie was predeceased by her parents, Nick and Tina, her brothers Mike, Alex, Fred and Leon, her sisters Marie & Laurie, her sons Dale and Doug and her son-in-law Bob Clark.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the St. Joseph's Catholic Church [5211 - 50 Avenue] Killam, Alberta.

There will be fellowship and refreshments at the Killam Community Centre following Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Killam & District Health Care Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
